GATINEAU: OTTAWA ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIVER. WITH TED

Across the river from Ottawa lies Gatineau city. It is also not in Ontario anymore, but in Quebec but everybody here speaks English… along with French.
The cottage house where I got to stay for 10 days was built in 1860´and another of my doggies lived there. His name was Ted, but I didn´t care much and called him Maverick – even though he probably couldn´t be more different than my lovely huge boxer.

Gatineu is also a very nice park where mum and I was going for long and short walks. So for example Pink Lake: it was not pink at all but it was still very special – due to some bacteria a layer on the bottom hasn´t been getting any air for ages and there were super old organisms preserved. And there were nice fish and a funny turtle swimming just by the surface. And from Skyline trail we got very nice views to Ottawa Valley and over Canadian Shield.
But my favourite walk was the one that started right by the visitor centre… it was so easy that I could ride it in my “caa caa” and short enough that Ted could come along as well. The best on this walk though was its very end – La Cigale gelaterie, their amazing sand pit and tasty ice cream. Yum! There mum finally understood – after months and months of hard work – what I mean by “ekin”. “Ice cream” – it makes perfect sense, doesn´t it?

I didn´t mind going to the playground that was not far from our cottage either. There were a lot of different “caa caas” but mosquitos loved it there as well!
The ninth day I learned Ted´s name and the next morning we cleaned our mess and said good bye again. Might there be another doggie that needs my pat?
P.S. In Gatineau I celebrated my last non-second birthday as well. With the cake mum didn´t put on a great performace this year though. Hopefully in a month she will fix her reputation.
