WANAKA: MY FIRST SUMMER CHRISTMAS

When Christmas happened last time, it was 24th of December and there was snow everywhere. This time it was 25th and 20 degrees. What is going on here?!

It all started with the little tree mum and I decorated couple of days ago and continued this morning when daddy made us a delicious omelette. Then we all (including Benson) went for a walk to Mount Iron. That is not so extraordinary like the omelette because we head up there quite often.

What occurred after that convinced me that we were having a truly special day: I was allowed to tear the nice colourful paper off all the boxes of different shapes and sizes lying under and around the Christmas tree! In them there was a mountain of beautiful presents: books, drums, a drawing board, Play-Doh… but the best were the sticks and the cloth that I found in the long oval box.

First I had no idea what they were for but daddy starting putting them together straight away and… it was a teepee! I don´t think it´s waterproof but unlike our tent I can have it at home, put all the cushions and toys in it and hide there when mum gets too annoying. Yay!

The fish mum made for lunch was not a carp and the potato salad was not nearly as delicious as the grandma´s amazing dish but I still quite liked it. Plus I got to sit on pillows on the big chair at the big table so no complaints really.

The raspberry cheesecake was not bad either and certainly I would still play with all my new toys if my eyes didn´t start to close against my will and I didn´t have to go to bed. Good night and Merry Christmas!
