Not having a picture with the Opera House is like not being in Sydney at all. At least it looked like that when mum and I finally got there yesterday afternoon. It was Sunday and very busy and before we could ask someone to take a photo of us we had been asked that ten times at least. Maybe we should get a selfie stick.

Anyway I have plenty of pictures in front of this iconic building now (and many more from the other must see Sydney places), so it's pretty obvious that I have been there. The Opera house was the last stop on the long list of sights we (mum) wanted to see. The Harbour Bridge was nice as well as views from it but a bit tricky to find the steps up. There was a crafts market in the Rocks, the oldest part of the city, where mum didn't buy me anything L. The otherwise probably impressive Queen Victoria Building almost couldn't be seen this time because it was half-covered with scaffolding from the light rail building site. I am not surprised at all that people who own cafes and shops along the main, George street complain that they have lost customers. Mum and I didn't stop there for a nice coffee either. Instead we went to the St James Park with a big ANZAC memorial and a friendly guard who wanted to answer all our questions but at the moment we had none. I walked almost all the way to the Saint Mary's Cathedral. Mum says that those 500 metres took us half a day but I think I was pretty quick. The modern art in the art museum I didn't like and I was letting everybody know so eventually we had to leave before mum got to see the most interesting part (she says it was interesting, I say I could do it better). Then we crossed the Royal Botanic Gardens and in front of the Opera House we were. From Coogee, where James lives, all the way to Bondi Beach goes the Coastal Walkway and it's pretty nice. And that is how we spent today: hanging out on the beach. Again.

Mum says that tomorrow morning she is going to wake me up early again. We are going to the airport where our plane to New Zealand will wait for us. After nearly four months on the road I am going back home. Your Annie
