THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN V: THE TERRACE PARTY AND LOADS OF PRESENTS

I think mum was glad that we could stay at one place for a little bit again. Judging from loafing around which was the only thing we were doing last three days in Kawagoe.

One day we went for a walk to some lake, that was far away and it was not really worth it. Then we of course had to visit auntie at the campus and check whether at work she actually does something or only pretends to do something. Well, she was probably doing something. Unlike her colleagues whose only job was saying “kavají, kavají-ne” again, again and again. From the context I understood that it means something like “cute”.

Auntie was off one day so for the last time we set off to the Old Kawagoe. There we bought o-mikuji, a piece of paper which says what our life will be like. I will have good luck. It is the sure thing.

Before mum and I left we all had a great farewell party on the terrace with a lot of food. I got loads of toys, which was all right. The thing that mum will be carrying them all (including the floating shark, that I will need badly in Malaysia) is of course all right as well.

Auntie saw us up to the platform and just before we finally left someone probably did something really bad to her, because she was crying a lot. It happens to me as well that time to time tears run down my cheeks when I fall over for example.

Your Annie
